Another load of FARMA log loaders arrived to Canada!

Our dealer Picken's Farm Equipment sent us photos of our FARMA log loaders, that arrived to Canada.

The Bouma family took home their new trailer T8, combined with G2 5.3 meters long crane. It's a model that suits a great number of active forest owners and this fact is proved by the number of trailers sold.

From Saue, we also sent out CT 6.3-10, for Gagné boys. Our 10 ton trailer is based on the same design as our successful 9 ton trailer with the best handling thanks to the placement of the frame steering behind the railing.

Thank you Picken's Farm Equipment for the photos and Family Bouma and Gagné boys, for choosing us. We are hoping to receiving photos of our trailers in working process and wishing you good luck in the forest!

The week is certainly off to a good start!

Manufacturing in FORS MW is going to be more efficient than ever before!

FORS MW is lucky to have such an efficient and conscientious production manager as  Gary, who has ,within his short working period in FORS MW, done many improvements in the factory and made the manufacturing easier and more productive.

His new project is called „6S Methodology“. This methodology is about how to organize a work space for efficiency and effectiveness by identifying and storing the items used, maintaining the area and items, and sustaining the new order. The name „5S“ stands for five Japanese words: SEIRI, SEITON, SEISO, SEIKETSU and SHITSUKE. There are five 5S phases: They can be translated from the Japanese as "sort", "set in order", "shine", "standardize", and "sustain". And we added 1S more, which stands for SAFETY!

Last week, we had our first training for people who work in the factory and warehouse. First training (1S) was about SORTING – removing unnecessary items and dispose of them properly. That would make work easier by eliminating obstacles. The results were very good and workers found it to be useful and understood the necessity  behind it.

Swiss people have their own way!

Our FARMA trailers perfectly match with other machines, for example, our FARMA T12 G2 is attached to the Welte skidder.
It´s a custom made trailer for a Swiss customer and he is very happy about his new tool.

We thank Keller Forstmaschinen AG for the photos and yet, it´s always good to receive photos of our machines by the customer.

Based on our selling numbers: 2+4 valve solutions are the most popular ones in the market!

When combining valve solutions for FARMA cranes and trailers, there are some basics configurations and needs to be considered. The crane and trailer are two separate components but sometimes their configuration makes them connected from a hydraulic point of view. There can be total of 14 functions on a crane trailer combination. Confused about which valve solution would suit the best for your needs?

Based on the selling numbers through times, the most popular valves has been „2+4 joystick/levers XY“. In case of this valves, two functions are shared on one lever (called X/Y), where the first „2“ means that you control 4 functions with this lever in a type of cross movement and 4 other functions simply pushing them up and down which gives you control of a total of 8 functions.

The drawback with 2+4 valves weights more than 20 kg, and could be quite clumsy to move in our out from the tractor cabin. A better solution then is to place some of the hydraulic function on the trailer or crane and control them electrically with buttons on the levers that you have in the tractor. The cables then run to the valves and open and close them „remotely“. This is what we call „2+4 joystick/el on/off, light weight “, which is the second most sold valves by FORS MW.  The valve is controlled with an electric switch, which allows smoother movements, as they enable you to adjust the speed by moving the handle more or less.

Good news is that we have many different kind of valve solutions to offer. More information about our hydraulic components and functions can be found on our webpage www.forsmw.com. We have dealers all over the world, so click on our dealer map section and  find the nearest dealer to you and ask them for further information.

Successful exhibition in US

As the fairs period starts, our BIGAB and FARMA products are seen everywhere – also outside of Europe. Last weekend FARMA machines were presented for American forestry enthusiasts. Pickens Farm Equipment were at Vermont Logger Expo 2016, and took our trailers there with themselves.

Our CEO Peter Kastberg with UK salesman Tom Belton were also there and the feedback from them was great – weather was very favorable, and interest towards our products was big!

Thank you Wayne Picken and Brad Charby for the great show!

How did BIGAB 7-10 end up in US?

We received interesting photos from our BIGAB 7-10 and FARMA C 6,0D’ s customer in California, United States. Sten-Erik Rolfõ has been working with cold stonewalls in Sweden and currently working with them in US.

He wrote us about how and why did he bring his container and crane with himself to California:

„2007 our daughter moved to United States. We thought she would come back but she ended up marrying and had a baby.So 2013 my wife and I decided to follow her to the United States.

Before that I had, for many years, been working with cold stonewalls in Sweden. I had had help of FARMA with the radio steered craine and BIGAB trailer with the articulation (frame steering). When we moved to California I realized that I wanted my equipment over here so we loaded the tractor on a roro ship from Sweden and the crain and the trailer in a container. All the equipment is here now and I am making stonewalls again.

My goal is to enrichen the country side outside Fallbrook and in San Diego
county with my stonewalls.“

Thank you very much for sharing these photos and the story with us. It makes us very happy to see that our products are so loyal and good, that customers drag them to another mainland!
