The back bone of the company!

A company without a business idea is not really a long-term company. Here at Fors MW our business idea is really the back bone of the company without which we would lose focus and quite quickly move in the direction of many other companies in our field and by so away from what makes us unique and market leader.

The Fors MW business idea is to market, develop, manufacture and sell small and medium scaled customer-oriented high quality products to a competitive price level in areas such as agriculture, forestry and entrepreneurship.

That might sound easy enough, something most could do but think again. To be able to own the chain from design, development, production to marketing and to sell to a competitive price at the same time as earning money as a company on yearly bases demands its hard work but it would not be done without a foundation to lie on, a back bone of the company so to speak.

The foundation of Fors MW is founded on the beliefs that it is better to earn less per sold product and sell volumes then to do the opposite. The Fors MW business idea is not unique in any sense but for companies that have turned to it and stuck with it to the last dime, it has surely been successful. The Fors MW business idea is based upon the principle that Fors MW produces a product for a price that the customer finds reasonable to pay.

Therefore it is not in the minds of Fors MW to turn to price increase as an easy solution for solving profitability. In order to continue to keep pace with the business idea, at the same time as increasing turn over and profitability, we need to keep focus on best price, in all areas.

For us best price is achieved by trying to avoid dealing with agents or middlemen since utterly it makes prices increase, prices that customers would have to pay. By selling volumes, we purchase volumes of parts, steel and all other things. By such, we pay less, then those competitors buying fewer pieces and by such we earn money on in-purchasing.  This is part of the “secret” behind the price setting of Fors MW and our success.

Being a part of the Fors MW team means being cost – conscious every step of the way and we do it to always be able to stick to the back bone of the company, to produce a product for a price that the customer finds reasonable to pay. For us that is not simply a text on a piece of paper. For us that is part of our successful history and our future. That is Fors MW. That will always be Fors MW.

Now it is time to thank all of our fantastic dealers, customers and employees all over the world for a really nice year and at the same time wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

May 2015 be the year of peace and prosperity for all!

Your friends at Fors MW

Wrapping up for Christmas break

The yard is full with trucks waiting to be loaded with machinery to be shipped out all throughout Europe. It is quite fantastic to see the production and assembly in December. There is so much going on and looking back, now when it is possible, one sees that this has been quite a good Fors MW year. The sales are continuing up and the markets are growing in most places. Also of interest is that we see the market outside of Europe growing in a really nice pace.

Company visit from Lithuania

This week we had a really nice visit from company DOJUS from Lithuania. The Estern market were discussed and the challanges of the same. Interesting discussions along with Tom Belton from Fors MW International resulted in hopefully a great colleboration for the future.

Many thanks for the visit!

Today we had our traditional Christmas gathering with the hall staff at Fors MW. Production and assembly together as it should be because noon can work without the other. We are a team, The Fors MW team. It was a really nice time where several people informed about the year that has passed and people in production was awarded for great achievements.  And to top it off we were served a really nice Christmas dinner.

Delivery for Japan

Fors MW have delivered a varied range of products to Japan over the years. It is really fantastic to see that products that travel all around the world from Estonia to Japan can compete on the market, but they can. Here is a delivery of our popular grapples that will be shipped to Japan.

China off loading

Fors MW has been purchasing parts from China for more than 8 years. We have an office in the country and a couple of persons employed to deal with the sub suppliers and the quality checks. All goods are checked before packed in the containers for sea transport to Estonia. At place in Estonia all goods are quality controlled yet again. Today we receive containers from China which has been on the sea for two months. Every month, all year, we have five containers on the sea. Imagine the purchase and production logistics behind that.

An advertisement close to you!

If you live in Europe and are into agriculture or forestry the chance is quite big that you have seen one or many of our advertisements over the years. Did you know that each year, since more than 10 years now, we advertise in 11 countries in 9 different languages in around 45 magazines? That gives a total of around 350 ads on a yearly base. Pretty cool if we may say so ourselves.

A BIGAB on the way

BIGAB hook lift systems has been on the Swedish market for more than 30 years and is by far the best sold hook lift system in Sweden as well as in Europe. When travelling around Sweden one can see a BIGAB almost anywhere.

For example out on the farms in harvest time or like here doing the assistance work of a contractor in his work in a municipality. Did you know that there are more than 4000 BIGAB out on the Scandinavian market?

FARMA Energy cutter BC 18 - The most economical

Have you made the acquaintance of FARMA energy cutter BC 18, one of the most affordable?
FARMA energy cutter make your work in the forest more productive and enable you to finish the job more quickly. Felling, gathering, cutting and loading everything from trees and brush to bushes and stumps can be performed easily. Trees are cut rapidly and the fixed blade is easy to maintain. The location of the centre of gravity makes it easy to position the grapple directly by the root. The FARMA energy cutter is a combined grapple and felling head that is often used for clearing energy wood. The energy cutter is simple to install, and replaces the grapple loader's regular grapple tool.

The cutter must not be used to handle trees with a diameter larger than 18 cm at the cutting point. Bear in mind that there are many aspects that can influence the potential to cut a tree of 18 cm, such as the tree species, moisture, and ambient temperature and whether the tree is frozen.

The FARMA cutter is recommended for FARMA cranes from size C 4.6 upwards.

Price? From 1986 – 2095 euro depending on coupling!

The cutter is available for crane montage as well as excavator montage.

Oppsjö Agriculture farm, Sweden chose BIGAB long bogie!

At the scenic Hälsingland in Sweden lays the Oppsjö Agriculture farm. The farm is run by the family Magnus Johansson. Because the farm is focused on milk production and has space for 140 dairy cows, it is every year large quantities of grass that needs to be brought in to Shiloh. The grass quantities has previously been handled by using several trailers, but last year they decided to go in a different direction and to improve logistics which meant ordering a BIGAB 20 – 24 hook lift system with a long bogie. As the son Jonas points out, “Instead of the long drive on the road with the tractor, we can now use the hook lift on the land, and then exchange for the truck at the road for the transport back to the farm which is smooth and effective. At the same time the hook lift system is multi flexible and can be used for so many things in the day to day farm work he states”.

Johansson family tip!
We chose a BIGAB 20-24 equipped with spring-long bogie. The follow steering long bogie gives us a smooth trailer that follows the tractor and our other equipment on the field perfectly. At the same time the long bogie allows 2 tons higher payload on the road.

Staffare AB in Hudiksvall, one of our fantastic dealers has delivered the trailer.

Machine days Östra Sönnarslöv, Hässleholm, Sweden

Last Saturday it was time for a machine demonstration day at another one of our great dealers. In this case, it was Östra Sönnarslöv who invited potential customers to their premises in Hässleholm, Sweden. Östra Sönnarslöv has been a dealer for the Fors MW product range for more than ten years.

Many are the BIGAB, FARMA but also NIAB sold to satisfied customers in the neighborhood. This time they showed up a broad palette of FARMA trailers but also a NIAB 5-15 B. On site we founded the acquaintance of a truly satisfied customer who always worked with NIAB at their thinning and who praised the product with the words, it is an extraordinarily good machine.

We thank the Östra Sönnarlöv for a really pleasant viewing!

Visit at Horsens, Denmark!

Last week I visited our Danish FARMA dealer, Horsens machines where the work was well underway for the exhibition to come. At Horsens Machines there is now a FARMA section available where customers can get acquainted with FARMA product range. After a really nice autumn in regards of sales Horsens has invested tough for the winter on the forestry side. FARMA is for example the only forest trailer brand that Horsens now sales and promotes. The Danish market is on the move again and Horsens has employed Jacob Nielsen to sully work with the forestry section at Horsens. We wish Horsens the best of luck and look forward of some really nice sales during winter.

Great sales of FARMA cranes

Every year FARMA sells thousands of our popular cranes without any trailer to customers all over the world. Cranes are easy to load in volume and therefore a great buy. Over the years we see an increase in sales of our larger cranes size 7,0 and 8,5. Great cranes at a very affordable price. Did you for example know that our C 7,0 crane lifts 720kg on full reach?

Lechner exhibition, Germany!

Every year our German dealer Lechner makes a demonstration day to show the products that he sells. This year it was on the 9th of November. It is really nice to see this company on yearly bases and see how they develop.

The first time I took part in the demonstration day was 8 years ago when they had only a small workshop. Now it has grown into workshops, sales rooms and a really nice stock hall with a yard full of products. It is really nice to see the development of this successful company!
At the show however they had only one FARMA trailer to show the customer but there were a good reason for it. The sold several FARMA trailers the week before and the customer could not wait since the forestry job had to be done.

Like in the years before it was a pleasure to work with the Lechner team together.

A big thanks to family Lechner.

Best Regards

Everyone is talking about it – The BIGAB tip trailer T 8

The BIGAB tip trailer was introduced to the market at the end of May this year and was set into production in September. Sales have picked up really nicely and it seems as if we might have a real success with this tipper. The response from the shows has also been great. Customers responds to a worked through trailer. The adjustable bogie along with the adjustable drawbar, perfect for wheeled excavators has created quite a buzz on the market. Here are some photos from production last week of a series of BIGAB T8.

Meet a friend of ours, Alstor!

The ALSTOR 8x8 is a small, nimble off-road machine that can go anywhere in the forest. We were approached by Alstor many years ago and since then we have been in collaboration due to the Alstor 8x8 being equipped with a FARMA crane.

Last year we upgraded the crane on the Alstor to a brand new C 4,2 crane with extension and a linkage system along with the new and stronger turn house size 5.

Alstor is a company that has been excellent in marketing their products all over the world and therefore they see result in sales, as do we. We are happy for the success for Alstor and look forward of continuing to do prosperous business with them.

Greetings from Paraguay!

Yesterday we received these great pictures from Paraguay. Over the years we have sold a number of cranes with 3 – point frame to Paraguay along with a bunch of grapples. A container solution for FARMA T6

Some weeks ago we recieved some really nice pictures from our Russian dealer MTZ Centr that makes their own solution for a container solution for the smallest FARMA trailer T6. With the help of the crane they can easily change the forestry trailer into something used for other transport needs.

Anders Söreke in Sweden owns a BIGAB, a FARMA, a NIAB…

…and a grapple bucket, a grapple and last but not least an Energy brush cutter BC 18. I think that we can almost say that is one of our greatest customers. We visited him at his farm last Friday for a talk and to take some photos for a new add that will be advertised on the Swedish market. When the ad is ready we will of course be back here with an update on the story behind one of our greatest customers.

Time for a real homepage makeover!

Last week we meet with our homepage supplier to start up the project of updating and restructuring the homepage. We had some really nice talks and I can promise a homepage that so far no other producer in our field of business can present. The goal is to present the new page at the forestry fair in Jönköping, Sweden in June of next year.

A day for NIAB training

Last week our aftermarket team took some hours to head for the forest to have some NIAB demonstration with our Swedish sales team. NIAB is a really nice product for forestry thinning but one that needs to be dealt with correctly and one that when sold, needs to be introduced to the customer who bought it, in a proper way. The hours in the forest was spent on everything from driving the processor to how it is built and works. A great educational day for everyone at the aftermarket as well as our sales team.

Greetings from Ukraine!

We are so happy to be able to introduce our first dealer in Ukraine. Over the years a few forestry trailers has been sold to Ukraine but there has not been an active dealer taking care of the market and our brands. Now all of that is at place. Company ТZOV  «UZLISSYA LTD» is working the market and has bought one of our most impressive trailers to do so, the CT 8,5 – 14 4 WD. They are now introducing the trailer to the market with really nice response.

We wish our friends in Ukraine the best of luck and welcome to the Fors MW family!

Greetings from Switzerland!

Today we receive some nice pictures of a New G2 4.6D crane that we recently supplied to our Swiss dealer WILDTECH. Here you can see the crane as been mounted on an MPV so he can use it on many applications.  Another example of how a FARMA crane from Fors MW can help you with your work.

Thanks Kilian for the fantastic pictures!

Ps. And as we head into another long winter we like pictures of loads of snow, blue sky and sunshine...

Exhibition in Russia!

During last week Fors MW attended the Russian Forestry Show “ Lesdrevmash” on the Expo centre in one of Moscow’s business districts

We had with us our best selling forestry trailer, The CT 6,3 – 9, and as ever when we show this trailer there is good interest shown from potential customers and dealers.

On Wednesday we were able to give a short 5 minute presentation to a group of Russian forestry experts invited by the Swedish trade council.  We were able to show the complete workings of FORS MW from development of new products to the aftermarket service we provide. The response to the company was pleasing and we feel confident that we can deliver some great products into their country.

We had a huge amount of help from one of our Russian dealers, MYZ Centr LLC. Sales director Vyacheslav Tebenkov was kept busy for most of the days, it is always good to see dealers as proactive as Vyacheslav, and on behalf of every one at Fors, thank you Vyacheslav!

The show has started at Elmia, Sweden!

Day two of Machinery & Cultivation Fair in Jönköping, Sweden. Fors MW is at place. The biggest attractions are the FARMA Generation 2 lumber trailer CT 7.0 - 10, and our new construction dumper BIGAB T8. It's really fun to see the response. FARMA Generation 2 really pulls all eyes to “himself” being inspired by forwarders and designed with the pattern protected 8-angular frame.
