News updates are taking a summer break!

So summer is finally here in the Northern part of Europe, and with it, many of us take a much needed vacation for some weeks. Factory and production will be up and running all summer, even though with a bit of limited strength but with staff at place to meet our customers every need.

When you look back you realize that it has been a really eventful six months for Fors MW and our market leading products. The order book is proof of our successful launches of both FARMA Generation 2 trailers as well as BIGAB Generation 2.  The reception has been amazing from both customers and dealers!

In addition, we continue to invest at the factory in Estonia, market our products more than ever before, taking place in a number of national and international fairs. Now we take vacation and we are back in the middle of August fully charged for what will be a really exciting fall! One autumn you will not want to miss!
News, blog and facebook pages are closed during summer in regards to updates between week 27 - 32.

Have a great summer and remember - Takes advantage of every day!

And for those customer and dealers that actually have winter right now – we say you – summer is coming, we will just have a bit of it first.

A Big Thank You!

A year ago our old companions, sales representatives Carl Erik Åkesson and Göran Carlsson announced that it was time to move on to new challenges, but also to enjoy life while it is given. Now the day has come when it´s time to say goodbye.

It is with mixed feelings that we say goodbye. Calle has been with us for 17 years and is a large part of the success story that FARMA has become. For that, he has always a special place in our Fors MW family. Göran has during his ten years with us, being a representative of BIGAB, created a market - leading position and by the launch of BIGAB Generation 2 it feels stronger than ever.

Fors MW took farewell under a very festive and nice evening during the ELMIA WOOD exhibition in early June. An evening among friends and a night to remember!

Thank you Calle and Göran for great battles won and great efforts in the FARMA & BIGAB success story!

Your friends at Fors MW

One is a BIGAB G2 which has received a fantastic reception on the market as one of our FARMA Generation 2 forestry trailers. Use the possibility to get to know these fine trailers and exquisite developments during Borgeby Field days!

Meet a FARMA user – Family Axelsson on the farm Berga in Sweden!

Family Christian Axelsson are in charge of an agricultural company with about 75 hectares where the main part is forest. The farm is called Nylund a family farm for generations on Christina’s side. The family consists of the children Max, Felizia and Zam. On the farm they breed Highland Cattle and have horses quartered. Christian and his wife Christina has work outside the farm as well.

The FARMA trailer that they now have was bought in 2009 by Anders Bil & Maskin. A 12 ton driven trailer with a 6,5 m crane. It is the second FARMA trailer that the farm has had. The FARMA trailer is equipped with its own hydraulic system, damper for the crane movements and winch. Christian points out the great benefits he has with the 4WD drive on the trailer as well as the hydraulic bogie that he often uses. The trailer is used for much more than just timber, transporting large bales is one of them.

It's great to see the family interest in the company. A true entrepreneur family which of course is one of the best things we know here at Fors MW!

FARMA BC 18 Energy cutter in action!

On ELMIA WOOD, we showed in our fabulous stand our popular FARMA energy cutter BC 18 in action on an excavator. The energy cutter can be equipped with either S 40 / S 45 coupling. FARMA felling heads make your work more productive and enable you to finish the job more quickly. Felling, gathering, cutting and loading everything from trees and brush to bushes and stumps can be performed easily. Trees are cut rapidly and the fixed blade is easy to maintain.

The location of the centre of gravity makes it easy to position the grapple directly by the root. The FARMA Felling head is a combined grapple and felling head that is often used for clearing energy wood. The felling head is simple to install, and replaces the grapple loader's regular grapple tool.
The cutter must not be used to handle trees with a diameter larger than 18 cm at the cutting point. Bear in mind that there are many aspects that can influence the potential to cut a tree of 18 cm, such as the tree species, moisture, and ambient temperature and whether the tree is frozen.

The FARMA felling head is recommended for FARMA cranes from size C 4.6 upwards.

Nice visit from Estonia!

During ELMIA WOOD we had a really nice visit from our Estonian collogues. Four of our employees from the factory came for a visit to Sweden. At first they paid Ljungby Maskin http://www.ljungbymaskin.se/CM.php?PageID=96224 a visit to take a look at their production of the wheel loader. Then two days was spent in the stand of Fors MW at ELMIA WOOD meeting customers. They ended the trip by passing by SSAB steel manufacturing in Oxelösund.

Start early!

We have always said that the ones that tests radio steering will never change back since it is so easy to handle. As you see, even a kid could to it even though this child was under monitoring of our CEO Peter Kastberg.  The picture from ELMIA WOOD and the demo of BIGAB Z 6,6 crane.

Visit at SSAB in Oxelösund, Sweden!

A team from Fors MW visited SSAB in Oxelösund to watch and learn how to produce Weldox and Hardox steel. To see the process in action from where it starts when they melt down the ore which then are moved into the steel plant where it is processed through different processes. The carbon content is reduced so it becomes steel. Thereafter, the process proceeds to the mill to be rolled to the right thickness, length and wideness. At last the plates will be taken through various heat treatments before ready for delivery. A long and really interesting process in high tech environment.

Let us end by thanking the staff of SSAB for a very interesting visit!

ELMIA WOOD to an end!

Let us begin by thanking all the visitors for some fantastic days at ELMIA WOOD during last week. This is the show we always look very much forward to. A trade show for which the preparations begins years ahead. Each exhibition has been a nice show, but this time the reception was tremendous from both press and customers.

Perhaps not surprising given all the news we presented during our Generation 2 series. FARMA lumber trailer series was received with great interest and never before has BIGAB garnered so much interest at a forestry show. The demonstration of BIGAB Generation 2 attracted many interesting discussions. That the product is awaited on the market, there is no doubt.

Now, we collect all the impressions which largely consist of comments from our users. With these comments in mind we continue to take responsibility for leading the development of our market-leading company and our brands.

Again thanks for some fantastic days! See you again soon!

ELMIA WOOD is on!

Now we really have started here at ELMIA WOOD. Day number two is soon coming to an end, and what day it was! We are experiencing one of our best shows ever, but is it really surprising given all the news we have to show? Fors MW leads product development in the industry. Something both customers and journalists tell about when entering the stand for a closer visit. Fantastic weather in the forests of Småland do not make things worse. We very much look forward to the next two days. ELMIA WOOD delivers as always!

Time for ELMIA WOOD!

On Wednesday, it’s finally time. The fair we all have been waiting for, for four years since last time. Here at Fors MW we have worked hard for quite some time to be able to pull off the fair of the season. In our stand we will show our entire forest range from our market – leading brand FARMA. BIGAB is also represented in the stand as well as NIAB.

Take a chance and see several of our products “in action” on the stand. Perhaps take a closer look at all the different valve options available or why not check out the most price worthy grapple range on the market. All models on site.

Of course you will also find our new Generation 2 trailer series at the stand. For the first time we unveil the entire series from T 10 to T 16 4 WD. All trailers now in production. All presented together with the amazing and really affordable Generation 2 crane series from C 3,8 – C 8,5.

FARMA Generation 2 has received a fantastic reception from both customers and the press. We are of course excited. That the product manager for the world’s largest forestry fair (ELMIA WOOD), Torbjörn Johansson, expresses in an interview with one of Sweden’s largest newspapers, that our stand 627 is one of five stands customers should not miss, we are of course particularly proud of!

In the picture Torbjörn Johansson, product manager at ELMIA WOOD, unfortunately in Swedish comment that he tells that we are one of five spots at the show you should not miss and mainly due to the new Generation 2 trailer series and it’s octagonal central frame which he simply says is “An embarrassing ingenious invention really”. Being the forestry owner and the product manager of ELMIA WOOD that he is we simply take him on his word.

Welcome to one of five stands at ELMIA WOOD you should not miss – number 627!
