2012 – A year of development!

2012 has been an exciting year with a number of challenges to overcome. It has been a year of hard work, but it has also meant a number of successes. We have launched several new products and expanded the model range in existing ones. We have managed to market our brands BIGAB, FARMA and NIAB in more markets than ever before. Never before have we been more visible.

2012 is not what we usually call a year of exhibitions but came to be a year of one successful show after another. We participated in everything from the large German forestry fair KWF to fairs in England, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, France and Estonia to name a few. During the year we saw several new markets upon up in earnest. Countries such as Russia, France but also more exotic markets such as Paraguay and Mauritius. The website became available in Norwegian and is now available in eight languages.  A website visited by hundreds of thousands of unique visitors every year. The blog “A company´s journey” is one of the few marketing blogs, in our field of industry, and very popular all over Europe.
Investments in the factory and personnel continued during the year. We traded several robots and a range of CNC machines. We got our purchased laser and the huge hydraulic press knows as the Hulk in action. Name because of its green color and enormous size. Environmental efforts continued, and has been several. We look specifically with joy at the fact that the whole factory except for the oven of the paint shop are heated up by wood chips from our own farm.

Our product line grew with a log cracker (W 700) and the energy cutter FARMA BC 18. The C 3,8 m crane was updated with a link arm system for increased use. C 7,0 crane became the formidable success it deserves. A magnificent crane beyond anything else on the market and at a price few can match. BIGAB Z crane continued its positive sales trend and is now a popular piece of machinery with the contractors along with a BIGAB hook lift system.

In May, the contractor fair MaskinExpo in Stockholm was the first time we presented BIGAB Generation 2. A stronger and more intelligent hook lift system with a tilt angle of 66 degrees and obtained at a speed which as good as with a traditional tip trailer. A unique trailer with a unique solution! A trailer for the future! FARMA Generation 2 featured on the German KWF show this summer an entirely new brand protected lumber trailer series. A trailer series available in models T 10, T 12, T 14 4 WD and the T 16 4 WD.

When you look back on a year that soon is coming to an end you pretty soon realize that it has been an equally eventful and fulfilling year as previous. A year is always followed by good and bad times. A year has always their finest moments. The presentation of BIGAB and the FARMA Generation 2 trailers are two such moments. Work with the photo shoot for the new FARMA brochure to be launched after Christmas another. It is with excitement but also with confidence that we look forward to 2013. It is the year when the forest fair Elmia Wood will take place. We will be there in the fairs largest stand and so will many of our product news!
Being al market leader is a responsibility of both managing what you have, but also to develop for the future. It is a daily and ongoing process that never stands still. That´s the challenge that makes us get up in the morning. It is in the air we breathe. That is so that history can be reflected in a successful tomorrow!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

The blog will now take a Christmas break and will be back again on the 9/1 – 2013.

4 WD – A must in rough terrain!

FARMA 4 WD vehicles are available in models T 12 4 WD, T 14 4 WD G2 and T 16 4 WD G2. FARMA has electrical maneuvered drive as a standard with two positions – forward and reverse.  The power of the FARMA 4 WD is one of the best on the market. The 4WD will provide you with great benefits when driving in difficult driving conditions on soil with low bearing capacity and rough terrain. The 4 WD will also assist when you need to off load timber within short distances (perhaps off loading different timber assortments into different off loading sections) and then move simply using the 4WD.
The movie shows our T 16 4 WD Generation 2 trailer in action.

It´s innovative design and technological development that takes it one step further. Our extensive industry experience and global purchasing team provides opportunities for extensive equipment options and competitive prices!
For more information see FARMA products at www.forsmw.com (changes have occurred though since the information was posted) or wait for the detailed presentation in January.

Make a cut – FARMA BC 18

In our Generation 2 series, we have launched a smaller version of an energy cutter. FARMA BC 18 will make your work in the forest more productive and the fixed knife is easy to maintain. BC 18 is adapted for our FARMA grapple series and requires no additional controls or hoses. You connect it to the hoses off the grapple. Tilt is done automatically when you cut (the pressure when tilting is adjustable) and tilts up when you re – open the cutter to cut new bushes. For loading, we recommend our energy brush grapple or the standard grapple on the crane. The center of gravity location makes it easy to place the grapple directly at the root.
The cutter is supposed to handle bushes on a maximum diameter of 18 cm at the cutting point. Se table. Keep in mind that many things can affect the ability to cut trees at 18 cm, for example which wood it is, humidity, outdoor temperature but also if the tree is frozen.

FARMA BC 18 is recommended for FARMA cranes from size 4,6 and up.

In a moment ...

“There are two things we should always be  - raw and   ready ...

When you are raw, you are always ready and when you are ready you usually realize that you are raw.

Waiting for perfection is not an answer, one cannot say "I will be ready when I am perfect" because then you will never be ready.

Rather one must say:
"I am raw and I am ready just like this-right now, how and who I am.”

Our warmest wishes for Your Birthday, Ago!

Happy Birthday, dear Olga!

“You've got this life and while you've got it, you'd better kiss like you only have one moment,
try to hold someone's hand like you will never get another chance to,
look into people's eyes like they're the last you'll ever see,
watch someone sleeping like there's no time left,
jump if you feel like jumping,
run if you feel like running,
play music in your head when there is none
and eat cake like it's the only one left in the world!”

Details are important!

Since Fors MW is a manufacturer of machinery we need to work side by side with the machine directive and CE mark. In that work we also need to provide our machinery with the stickers needed and we assure you many it is. Every week we need to work with providing the right stickers to the machinery. It is not simply to make on. The need to be accordingly to the regulations and of course what is always the most important – our users needs to understand them! In the photo is Sulev (manager of the assembly) in action measuring the size of the winch for new stickers that we will add.

Back in Estonia

I am back in Estonia working from the factory for a couple of days in a cold and wintry Estonia. Loads of snow and fantastic weather. It is great to be back and see the production in full speed. The green color is dominating as it should in the winter season when most of the FARMA and NIAB products are sold. I hope that you do know that we have one of the broadest ranges of forest trailers and cranes out there! Read more at our homepage www.forsmw.com click at FARMA

Taking part of the photo shoot!

It is time to meet another member of the Fors MW team. This time we will get aqiunted with Pavel Kutovoi that works in our assembly department. Pavel also took part in the photo shoot session in the beginning of October and we asked him about this experience.

Hello, everybody!
My name is Pavel Kutovoi . I work in the assembly department and want to tell You a little about
my experience of participation in holding a photo shoot in Kidise ( its Leif Fors, founder of Fors MW, farm located not far from city of Pärnu ).

First of all I am very grateful for the opportunity to witness the work of Our equipment
in its true operating conditions. It has helped me gain a new perspective on
Our products and a better understanding of  the purpose of various design elements that go with Our machinery.

Weather  during the photo shoot  was a constant cause of worry and joy, rapidly changing and surprising the team over and over again. Even though the rain sometimes made if difficult and challenging we managed. It was tough work though to keep the machinery clean and up and running. Then we sun was shinning I can promise you that we worked until dark.

Work in the forest is drastically different from work in the assembly zone. We often had to improvise, because we didn't always have all the necessary parts and tools at hand - it was a good feeling to see that we managed!

A possibility to work  as a team  brought us great results. I have very positive impressions of the people I met during the photo shoot.

All the best, Pavel

Agromek – Denmark!

Last week, the popular exhibition Agromek took place in Herning, Denmark. Agromek is an agricultural fair, which this year drew large crowds of visitors also from countries such as Norway and Sweden. Fors MW was at place in our agent Helms TMT – Centret A/S large and well stocked stand. Helms have been successful in their sales of BIGAB on the Danish market and chose to invest heavily with BIGAB in the stand. BIGAB Generation 2 was showed for the first time on the Danish market, to many previous users delight. At stand was also this year’s municipal best seller BIGAB 12 – 15 with the popular Z crane 6,6 as well as one of the largest models of BIGAB 20 – 24. Representing Fors MW in the stand was Eric Queckfeldt, new sales representative for Denmark, and Svante Högnert, purchase/development.
We would like to express our gratitude and thanks to Helms for a successful exhibition and as always a nice cooperation!

Happy Birthday, Rene!

“The only way that we can live, is if we grow.
The only way that we can grow is if we change.
The only way that we can change is if we learn.
The only way we can learn is if we are exposed.
And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open.
