Do you remember this guy?

 

This is one of our old dear friends by the name of Anders Söreke. He lives close to Växjö in the region Småland, Sweden. He has been using BIGAB for many years and he likes what he receives from the trailer and would not like to be without it. He is a member of the Scandinavian CLUB BIGAB and markets his special cap at every show. Here with his son.

Several years ago he also bought a NIAB tractor processor for the thinning in the forest and last but not least, a month ago, he ordered a FARMA CT 6,3 – 10. By doing so he actually has all three of the Fors MW market leading brands BIGAB, FARMA and NIAB. We will of course visit Anders on his farm later on this year so we will be back to tell more!

Work begins – New FARMA brochure!

 

FARMA is as you probably already know Europe´s by far best sold lumber trailer. Through the years more than 10 000 trailers and cranes has been shipped from our factory in Estonia! In beginning of history, it was mostly sold due to price but with time FARMA has become a brilliant product and it´s user’s favorite.

In 2011 FARMA Generation 2 was introduced, a product development, that continues to develop, and is offered to our customers at a competitive price level. We have under the Generation 2 name introduced among several things a new crane series and most recently this summer at the KWF show in Germany we unveiled our Generation 2 trailer series in a completely new frame design.

A couple of years ago, we revised our entire FARMA brochure but time catch up, or rather the development of our products, so it is now high time to do a complete make – over of the brochure. It will become richer on information and more comprehensive. In this work, we will during next week take a photography team to Estonia to take pictures of the trailers in action out in the forest. Twelve different trailer and crane combinations will be under the loop next week. This will be the foundation of the new brochure. This is a work that then continues for a few months. We expect to launch the new FARMA brochure in good time before New Year!

Florian sold his first FARMA

 

Some time ago we were contacted by this enthusiastic guy in Austria by the name of Florian Gamsjäger. He ordered some FARMA and a couple of days ago he made his first deal. Florian was very pleased that his hard work had paid off and so are we. We all need to start by selling our first FARMA and since that has now happen for Florian we are sure we will see many more sales!

Meet a BIGAB user!

 

A farm in Constant change – Klackeborg!

Stig Åke Petersson at Klackeborgsgård placed in middle part of Sweden has just bought his second BIGAB, this time a BIGAB 20 – 24 with prolonged bogie with heavy duty suspension and self – steering axle. When we visit the farm they are really busy with the harvest as you can see from the photo they work with huge crawler combines to make it happen so the BIGAB is busy all day long in its efforts to carry home the corn but the two work really well together says Stig Åke. The BIGAB trailer is sturdy and rolls easily, a lot thanks to the self – steering axle.

Klackeborgsgård consists of 500 hectares of fields and a large beef cattle production at about 1500 animals, but they are planning to expand with more animals. They mix the animal feed with the potatoes that are thrown away at the potato factory a few kilometers away so you can trust that there will be many heavy loads for BIGAB to handle every week from the potato cleansing.

We wish Stig Åke with staff the best of luck with the continued operation and hope to deliver BIGAB trailer number three to the business in the coming years!

APF FORESTRY show – UK!

 

During the end of last week FORS MW products were represented at the APF FORESTRY show in UK. Hosting the event was the beautiful Ragley Estate in Warwickshire and even the weather was on it best behaviour, only early mornings reminding us that autumn is on its way.

Our dealer Nathan Home forestry did a fine job on this exhibition, showing the FARMA trailers CT8.5-14 4WD and CT 9-6.3 along with BC-18 and full range or grapples and rotators. Business was brisk with customers old and new from all four corners on the UK.

It was nice to see our dealers from Wales, Gary Daives and Ireland, Dave Power Plant on the stand over the few days we were there.  Another nice addition to the stand was the Alstor mini forwarder, doing working demonstrations and really showing off the capabilities of our FARMA 3,8 crane

On behalf of all of us at FORS MW I would like to thank Nathan and his family for the magnificent work with FARMA over the past few days. I am sure they will be busy in the coming weeks after such a great effort. Thanks guys!!

Good day´s at EntreprenadExpo!

We have so far had two great day´s at EntreprenadExpo. One with pretty nice weather and one day, with loads of rain. Even though we have met many people interested in our BIGAB hook lift trailers and to be honest, we have also met so many who have them already.

As you might know BIGAB is the original product (all over copies in one way or another), first developed in Sweden. It has been on the Scandinavian markets for nearly 35 years so of course Sweden really is BIGAB land!

There might be some of you who think could we really sell any more trailers but in fact we do and with the new BIGAB Generation 2 trailer with a tip angle of more than 60 degrees and a speed as fast as a tip trailer we will continue to sell BIGAB for many more years to come.

We look forward of tomorrow, the last day of the show, but one thing is for sure, we will be back! Few shows have provided so few visitors but so many interested clients!

Dyrsku'n - Norway

 

Fors MW participated last week in Dyrsku´n fair in Seljord, Norway through the dealer Skogsverktöy and their amazing stand. It was the biggest on the fair. FARMA completely dominated the show by its presence, but we can also get to boast ourselves by telling that FARMA is by far the most sold lumber trailer brand in Norway over the past three years.

It is always such an experience to participate in the fair. The settings surrounding it are fantastic and the number of visitors tremendous. Quite many trailers where actually sold on the stand and more sales will come after the show. The two guys from Skogsverktöy, Vidar and Stein Olav, managed to handle the show as the professionals that they are and one has to be impressed! Only a few times in my life I have experience that customers are so satisfied with the sales guys that they praise on their service. They are obviously something extraordinary!

 On site from Fors MW were signed but also our purchaser and development guy Svante Högnert (always an asset) but also, all the way from our Chinese office in Shanghai, Michael. It was a great experience to get to know Michel a little more and listed to the work under way in China.

 

I would like to thanks Skogsverktöy for a really good show! One can only be proud!

Time for EntreprenadExpo!

This week it is time for the brand new contractor exhibition in the South of Sweden by the name of EntreprenadExpo! It is a completely new fair which takes place on Ring Knutstorps racing track in the region of Skåne on the 20th to 22th of September.

Fors MW is of course at place showing a couple of BIGAB hook lift systems along with a FARMA lumber trailer and our popular grapple series. The fair is held just off the racing track. The track will offer a range of activities for the visitors during the fair. Maybe a trip around the track at 200km/hour? Spite the track, the fair is situated in a very beautiful area surrounded by a lush national park.

Karpfhamer Volksfest 2012

 

Fors MW was also this year present on the Karpfhamer Volksfest, like in the past it was possible with the help from Oswald Agrartechnik. During rainy weather, really interested customer made the stand a nice and busy place. The customers focused on our simple and strong trailers and gave us a nice and positive feedback.

We have shown nearly the complete FARMA product range from the small CT 3,8-6 to the CT 5,3-8 and CT 6,3-9 up to the CT 7,0-12 G2. At the same time we also showed nearly all grapples the felling head BC 18 as well as the log cracker W 700. Present in the stand drawing lots of attention was also the tractor processor NIAB 5 – 15 B.

I would like to thank our distributors Oswald Agrartechnik Regen. With the support from this team the exhibition was an absolutely success for Fors MW.

Karpfhamer Volksfest 2012

In den vergangenen Jahren war AS Fors MW auf dem Karpfhamer Volksfest durch die Firma Oswald Agrartechnik vertreten, so auch in diesem Jahr. Bei verhaltenem Wetter waren interessierte Kunden an unserem Stand, welche die Vorzüge unserer einfachen und robusten Anhänger näher in Augenschein nahmen. Es wurde die komplette Produktpalette von Farma gezeigt, vom kleinen CT 3,8-6 über CT 5,3-8 und CT 6,3-9 bis zum CT 7,0-12 G2.

Weiterhin wurden fast alle Zangenmodelle, der Fällkopf BC18, die Spaltzange W700 und ein Niab 5-15B ausgestellt. Die Kunden konnten sich danke der Mithilfe der Fa. Oswald ein komplettes Bild über die Farma Produkte verschaffen, wir bedanken uns bei der Fa. Peter Oswald für die tolle Zusammenarbeit.

Having been with Fors MW/Farma Norden AB for many years, taking part in our amazing journey, working hard marketing our three market-leading brands, our sales representatives Carl Erik Åkesson and Göran Carlsson, in charge of Sweden/Norway, now have chosen to phase themselves out as they comment it themselves  in their newsletter;

We are phasing out ourselves!

Time passes and now it´s time to plan for the second shift. Göran and Calle are planning to move on after Elmia Wood 2013. Göran wants to devote more time to develop his farm and his own activities and feel the time is a good one for him and Fors MW. Calle turns 65 in 2013 and also want to try some new challenges. Therefore, Fors MW/Farma Norden is seeking for Calle and Görans successors. We hope of course, that the handover scheduled for summer of 2013 will be as smooth as possible for all.  We have had a challenging and exciting task. We have been involved in the company´s stunning development and know that there is an equally exciting future out there as it is a challenge to take part in. We do not say good bye just yet since we have almost a year before it is time to do so, but time flies.

PASSION FOR OUR PRODUCTS

This Sunday I was taking a load to the recycling station close to where I live and on the way back I saw a BIGAB in action. I’m not sure whether it is normal or not but I just cannot help wanting to stop by and talk to our users and take a picture of when they are in action. The user of this trailer set was on a brake somewhere as I couldn’t find him around but nevertheless, it is important for all of us to feel committed and passionate about what we do and supply to the market. Always try to take the opportunity to learn from our users and get their feedback. The picture is taken in Täby just north of Stockholm close to Såstaholm.

Once upon a time!

 

Last time I took a walk around the factory in Estonia I noticed this map being attached to one of the working stations. It is an old map of the once upon a time huge Soviet Union empire. As you can see, all of the Baltic States including Estonia are seen as a part of the empire. That was of course not out of free will. It became a tough reality after being sold out by the rest of the world in the so called Molotov – Rippentrop pact in 1939. One might ask why we let our Russian workers have maps of old empires up on the walls that caused so much pain to so many. First of all we believe in openness instead of closed doors. We believe in discussing instead of hiding. Secondly, what was pain for so many was pride to others. Others, ordinary people, that to be honest supported an action they did not know that much about. Today most Russians in Estonia would never ever like to move back. Some might take a look at old maps and think about those days of empire they did not live in. Some might see one of all dozens of movies about the cold war that are realized each year. All in all, it is not in the mind of Fors MW to judge others. It is in the mind of Fors MW to keep the openness and high ceiling surrounding us as our core.

A couple of weeks ago we took a round tour in Estonia visiting some of the machines in action this summer. This chipper combination is working at an Estonian contractor. The set is brand new with a FARMA C 8,5 mounted on the chipper to assist with the feeding. When we visited them they were working at a sawmill for a couple of days to clear the area from “leftovers”.

Market meeting!

During two days several of us here at Fors MW meet at our advertising agency CS & Co Reklambyrå in Växjö, Sweden for a market meeting with focus on marketing activities. It is intense days as many topics need to be discussed. Many new products are on the way, and new marketing material need to be developed. In the autumn, we prioritize the work on a new brochure for our FARMA line. Although the current brochure is not that old, a lot has happened. Many new products, new models and a new attractive trailer series called Generation 2 is just a part of all that needs to be included in the material. We will put great emphasis on the photo shoot of the products and its accessories with a photographer been hired for the job, a job that will take place in Estonia early October. We anticipate that the new FARMA brochure will be out in November.
